Stress-free Christmas tip 9 – write your own Christmas list

Sometimes it can be tricky to know what to get a loved one or friend as a Christmas gift. Who needs that extra pressure at an already busy and stressful time of year?

Be your own helpful Christmas elf by dropping hints, pointing out something you like and basically writing your own Christmas list. Enlist your friends and family, and encourage them to do the same for you if you are struggling to come up with ideas.

Check back to tip 5 and remember that it is not about the cost of the gift; it is the kindness and thoughtfulness of it that means the most.

A spouse might love vouchers for a foot rub far more than an expensive gadget (especially if they know you aren’t particularly fond of giving them!). Couples with kids may well appreciate an evening of free babysitting far more than his and hers bathrobes. Grandparents and elderly neighbours might cherish your time and company more than a box of chocolates.
