Diploma in Relational Counselling (2 years)


This Diploma in Counselling provides an over-arching training for counsellors seeking to counsel relationally, combining multiple modalities.

The Relational Counselling Diploma is one of the most advanced psychotherapy training courses in Scotland, encouraging students to deepen their theoretical understanding, examine their beliefs and attitudes, and develop skills appropriate to inter-relational counselling.

COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills


The Certificate in Counselling Skills is an excellent introduction to counselling theory and practice. For those considering a career in counselling, the Counselling Skills certificate is the ideal first step and a widely recognised qualification. The Spark is unique in only using professional counsellors to deliver this course, offering trainees added insight into the profession.

Scottish Mental Health First Aid Training (SMHFA)


Mental Health First Aid training teaches people how to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue. The course is the primary mental health first aid training programme in Scotland and provides essential skills and understanding.

Scottish Mental Health First Aid for Young People


Building upon the success of the adult Mental Health First Aid programme, The Spark also hosts training dedicated to individuals supporting, or interacting with, children and young people. This is an ideal course for adults working with young people in a wide-range of settings from education and youth groups to social services, community outreach and employability.

Advanced Course in Counselling Supervision


This bespoke, advanced counselling training for experienced psychotherapists and supervisors is designed to equip professionals to supervise at a psychotherapeutic level. Validated by COSCA and credit rated by the SQA the course

The course uses multi-model frameworks for supervision including Proctor and Inskipp, Hawkins and Shohet along with Egan’s Skilled Helper model.

Relationship First Aid
